I thought I did – that is, before I picked up a copy of H.R. Ellis Davidson’s Gods and Myths of Northern Europe.
An academic widely regarded as an expert on the religions, mythology, and symbology of pre-Christian Europe, Ms. Davidson’s writing style is both authoritative and approachable. It’s been a good read so far.
