“Many people speak of unconditional love but rarely live it. Instead, when they see a condition that causes them to feel negative emotions, they demand a change in the condition; but in doing so, they set themselves on a long and uncomfortable path of attempting to control others in order to feel good.” –The Teachings of Abraham in The Astonishing Power of Emotions by Esther Hicks

Though they may never realize it, the Christ-Con’s sole saving grace is their failure to rebuild the bulwark of 1950′s Christian America. Had they been allowed to stamp out all beliefs and practices that don’t coincide with their own, it wouldn’t be long before another group rose to power and did the same to them.

The beauty and sanctity of religion is diminished when it’s used to hurt people. Until they “get” this, evangelical Christians will continue to witness an exodus from their ranks and the continued crumbling of their antiquated institution.

I could tell early on that Stuart wasn’t the average Christian blogger. Absent from his site are the worn and tired “fire and brimstone” rants frequently found on other religious blogs. Instead you’ll find the ramblings of an earnest man who follows his heart and genuinely cares about people – one who’s unhappy about how little [...]

Stuart Delony, a great guy who works with unchurched youth here in the Pacific Northwest, asked me to write post for his site about why I’ve chosen the Wiccan path. Apparently he’s worked with young people in the past who’ve identified as Wiccan, and wanted some insight as to why the religion may have appealed to them. Though I’m aware Stuart [...]

I recently tripped and fell on Blogs4Brownback. I’m having a hard time determining whether or not the site is a parody, given the complete and utter ridiculousness of everything that appears on it. If it is a parody, I’m apparently not the only one who hasn’t “gotten it.” This comment appeared near the end of the thread on the site’s “About” [...]

And the Silly Fundamentalist Award of the Week goes to…Rev. Kelvin Franklin of Sword Ministries, author of Understanding Spiritual Warfare 2: Know Your Enemy. Of particular amusement is Section 4 of this well-informed and skillfully-written treatise, Occult Symbols.

As more Christians realize the extent of your arrogance, insensitivity, righteousness, and general asshattery, many will undoubtedly hasten to distance themselves from you and your rhetoric. If I were a Christian, I’d certainly be embarrassed to be associated with you.
